Photo prise au zoo de Plankendael à f/5, 1/50s et ISO200. Ces petites bêtes bougeaient très vite dans tous les sens, ma seule ambition était de faire un portrait passable de celle qui était au premier plan. La vague formée par les autres loutres était un effet-surprise.

Au traitement, j’ai dû assombrir l’arrière-plan qui attirait bien trop l’attention. Une ouverture de f/5 pour une photo prise de près explique la faible profondeur de champ. C’était voulu pour ne pas avoir trop de détails gênants à l’arrière-plan. Cependant, une PCD un peu plus longue et un temps de pose plus bref auraient permis d’avoir un effet d’ensemble en ayant une meilleure netteté sur les loutres à l’arrière plan.

Shot at the zoo of Plankendael at f / 5, 1/50s and ISO200. These small animals moved very fast in all directions, my only ambition was to make an acceptable portrait of the one in the forefront. The wave formed by other otters was a surprise.

Afterward, I had to darken the background that drew too much attention. An opening of f / 5 and a close focus distance explains the low depth of field. It was done intentionally for not having too many embarrassing details in the background. However, a dof a little longer and a shorter shutter time would have given an overall effect with greater clarity on otters in the background.
